Reflection: Do you feel the person in question puts you in humiliating positions? Do they feel pleasure or indifference when you feel shamed by them?
Reflection: Do you feel they give you space either physically, emotionally, and mentally to feel safe as yourself or with your needs and wants?
Red Flag: If they gossip about you and make you out to others as crazy or stupid.
Reflection: Do you find most of their humor towards you is darkly sarcastic or deprecating? Are you more uncomfortable than playful? Is is constant?
Red Flag: You feel honor that you show up for someone that does not show up for you.
Reflection: Do you feel more good about how you handle yourself during their episodes toxicity and cruelty over feeling good with yourself, particularly alone?
Let´s Draw
Draw a big box like, a room. Think of this room as a space you share with them. Close your eyes, breathe deep, and divide the room where you feel in terms of how much space they take up versus you. Now close your eyes, breathe deep, and draw the first things that come to mind when you think of their side of the room. Feel free to look up their symbolism if you do not know.
